ABOUT AGEING ASIA PTE LTD

Ageing Asia is an Ageing Market Consultancy Social Enterprise with the mission to change the way we age in Asia Pacific. We facilitate collaborations and strategic partnerships between CEO-level business, government and community leaders to access Asia Pacific's US$3.3 trillion silver industry through a combination of in-depth industry research and networking with key decision makers in the business of ageing. We also provide consulting to organisations seeking global best practices in housing, health and care models that can be translated for the Asian market place. Each event organised by Ageing Asia allocates at least 10% of the revenue to sponsor participants in not-for-profit sectors with free tickets and discounted rates to the events. Our charity initiative is the Art for Seniors Project that we developed to promote intergenerational bonding and interaction, and to brighten nursing homes through art.

The international Ageing Asia Innovation Forum, Ageing Asia’s flagship event, is an annual platform on the business of ageing to access investment and partnership opportunities in Asia Pacific. In 2012, the company launched the Ageing Asia Alliance (the Alliance) – Asia Pacific’s first industry network on the business of ageing. Today, the Alliance connects close to 1,500 members to business opportunities in Asia Pacific’s ageing market. Ageing Asia endeavours to drive product and service innovations to enable future generations of older adults in our region to age-in-place.

Singaporean entrepreneur Janice Chia founded Ageing Asia Pte Ltd with the mission to change the way future generations of elderly age in Asia Pacific, by engaging the business community to create better products and services that will enable healthy, independent ageing and dignified ageing. Influenced by the changing needs of her elderly relatives as they grew older and the higher expectations in quality of life of the baby boomer generation, she firmly believes that the social challenges of ageing can be transformed into an economic opportunity for Asia Pacific.

ABOUT THE ART FOR SENIORS PROJECT
A charity initiative by Ageing Asia, the Art for Seniors Project aims to use art programmes to engage elderly in our local nursing homes. Launched at the 3rd Ageing Asia Investment Forum in 2012, Ageing Asia was inspired by Dutch ageing-in-place specialist, Professor Dr Hans Becker, Chairman, Humanitas Foundation, The Netherlands, and his outstanding use of art to create conversation pieces in elderly apartment complexes operated by his organisation all over Rotterdam. Professor Dr Becker shared that the idea is all about creating liveliness and entertainment in the homes. This sparked Ageing Asia to come up with an idea to use art to improve the quality of life in our local senior homes, and hence the Art for Seniors project was borne.
