HEALTHY AGEING COMMUNITIES
SMART CITIES FOR ALL AGES SINGAPORE

Improving Health Outcomes and Alternatives to Institutional Care

13 July 2016 | Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore

SG

The Healthy Ageing Communities: Smart Cities for All Ages Singapore will bring ageing experts, city planners and technology experts together to identify the best solutions, latest innovations and trends to accelerate development of cities for all ages. A key outcome is to identify technologies and innovations that include the needs of Asia Pacific’s rapidly ageing population.

According to the 3rd Asia Pacific Silver Economy Business Opportunities Report 2015, Asia Pacific’s ageing baby boomer population will have a bigger influence and affluence on how they would like to age, with many expressing strong desires to age-in-place, avoiding nursing homes and continuing to age independently. It is a necessity to create cities that integrate healthcare, social participation, community, workplace, leisure and cultural needs of all their citizens, including the needs of a rapidly ageing population. Highlights include ICT infrastructure that connects smart homes, smart cities and ambient assisted living.
